What to expect...

On your first visit we will confidentially talk through your medical history in order to get a full picture of your past and present health. This helps to clarify what you are hoping to achieve through reflexology and what your individual physical and emotional needs might be. First sessions tend to take approximately 1.5 hours and subsequent sessions 1 hour.

Usually we will use the feet for reflexology, so you will only need to remove your shoes and socks. Pressure will be manually applied to all the reflexes on your feet and lower leg in a series of massage and holding techniques. Where any imbalance or ailment is present slight tenderness may be felt, but this should be short lived as the blockages are cleared. Many people close their eyes and rest during their treatment, others like to chat gently. It is your time to really relax and use as you wish.

Most people experience deep relaxation during and after a treatment. Others can feel energised. You will need to drink plenty of water to flush out any toxins that have been released and try to avoid stimulants such as tea, coffee and alcohol for the rest of the day. Many people report sleeping very well the night after treatment, with accompanying feelings of improved mood and general wellbeing.

We will talk through any findings. If further sessions are recommended, we will plan their frequency in order for your treatment to be most effective. Often I will show you self-help hand reflexology routines to use between treatments in order to really optimise effects. This also helps give you a positive role in your journey to better health.
